Committees



The Wyoming Workforce Development Council shall endeavor to incorporate into the work of each Committee the needs of Wyoming’s people including transitioning military members, veterans and their families, individuals with disabilities, youth who are in-school, out-of-school and at-risk through utilization of the six core programs: Adult, Dislocated Worker, Youth, Adult Education, Wagner-Peyser and Vocational Rehabilitation. 

Executive Committee – Purpose: A) Act on interim business of the full Council in its stead; B) Strategic Planning; C) Educate and inform policy makers and legislators about workforce development issues and its critical connection to education and economic development; E) Ensure that business has the leading voice in workforce programs.

Membership: A) Council Chair and Vice Chair; B) Department of Workforce Services Director; C) Wyoming Community College Commission Executive Director; D) Superintendent of Public Instruction; E) Wyoming Business Council Chief Executive Officer; F) Committee Chairs

Sector Strategies Committee – Purpose: A) Develop a deeper understanding of the interrelationships between business competitiveness and the workforce needs of target industries, provide workforce tailored solutions for those industries; B) Develop strategic enhancements of training for new businesses and industries to promote a diversified economy; C) Coordinate strategies with the Career Pathways and Apprenticeship Services Committee.

Membership: A) Committee Chair; B) Council Members who volunteer to participate

Career Pathways and Apprenticeship Services Committee – Purpose: A) Strategically plan to train individuals in emerging industries; B); Work to create apprenticeship training models for industries and employers seeking skilled workers and promote on-the-job training opportunities; C) Coordinate strategies with Sector Strategies Committee.

Membership: A) Committee Chair; B) Council Members who volunteer to participate

WIOA Compliance and Finance Committee – Purpose: A) Financials; B) WIOA Compliance; C) Policies; D) Foster continuous improvement in workforce (one-stop) centers and program alignment.
