January 21, 2021

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services is seeking public comment on a draft of Wyoming’s Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP) State Plan (Plan). Wyoming is required to submit the Plan in accordance with the Older American Act (OAA) section 503(a) and 20 C.F.R. § 641.350. SCSEP is a federally-funded employment and placement program for eligible unemployed, low-income individuals aged 55 and older. SCSEP fosters economic self-sufficiency through part-time training opportunities and work-based assignments in order to increase the number of older persons who obtain unsubsidized employment. Additional information on SCSEP may be found on the Department of Labor’s website. A copy of the draft Plan is available for public inspection online (below). Hard copies of the Plan will be made available for review at local Department of Workforce Services Workforce Centers. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, special assistance or alternate formats will be made available upon request. Chief elected officials, businesses, labor organizations, institutions of higher education, primary stakeholders, and the general public are encouraged to provide comments. Comments should be made in writing and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on March 30th, 2020, to joan.franklin1@wyo.gov or mailed to the attention of Joan Franklin, SCSEP Program Manager, at 5221 Yellowstone Road, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82002.
